STATES

Journal Entry: Wed Nov 18, 2009, 8:27 PM

10.28.09: My hair is red. Thought I'd tell you all. It looks really great, I think. States is this weekend and we will be going away, hopefully to win but I think we'll get second. Truth hurts, guys. I've been hard at work on several projects, and I'm really needing to do my homework right now. But I'm not feeling it, to be honest. Ah, well.

See you saturday or sunday.
Take care.

Well, yeah, guys. The updating thing? Not really working. But you know, school and sleeping take up a lot of time. It's not like I have practices to attend or anything. I'm really just lazy. I've been working on some drawing projects and logistics of things, so hopefully I'll be more organized from here on out. I finally gave Julietta ~Sushishu her birthday present from back in July, for one.

My driver's test is in three days. I am so nervous I might just die. My friend Sheila tells me it takes all of five minutes and it sounds like I'm overqualified with all the practice I've done, but nevertheless I've been gathering my good luck charms and praying for weeks. And I lost my gluckschwien, lucky pig. Shame, shame.

Anyhow, states was pretty good. We were seeded third and got third, ended the season on a win, so that's good. I played about 5 minutes, which was more than the 3 minutes I expected to play. We got to leave school at noon to go out to the school where states was at. There was one game that night and then three the next day, we lost to the team, first-seed, that won over all. The second place team put in a valiant effort and they had no reason to be sad, but I guess they would've liked to win... well duh, doesn't everybody, now?
Some seniors on our team got slighted (put lightly) by our coach and were unhappy, and there was tenseness. The boys came to cheer us on, and for the third place, they painted themselves up and put on a show. Basically competed with and trumped the other team's cheering section. It was rainy and cold and disgusting outside the whole time we were there. We went to this remarkable high-end Chinese restaurant on the way home, cos my mother drove me, rather than riding home on the cold, uncomfortable bus.

That week, on wednesday, Gracie ~oxymoronlove3, Steven ~Aexiel, Tyler ~Runtly, and Sheila came home on the bus with my and we went to the mall and I got my ears pierced. It was only partially traumatic. And the next day was awful because there were no chocolate chip muffins at lunch.

The next weekend was boys' states at our pool. Again, we got third, but the boys were seeded fourth and so they improved. Unfortunately they weren't all really looking on top of their game during the crucial games when they should've been. We made shirts for the friday game and the saturday games, but for those I was working at the concession stand and lifeguarding so I couldn't go to one of them. I was only supposed to guard for two hours, and I was stuck there for almost three hours! Screwed over again, bah! For the last game, we got in our suits and painted ourselves up, but I was late, so I had to paint myself and had no idea what we were doing and nobody coming through really helped me, so when I got up to the stands I looked absolutely retarded and I had used the wrong paint so it didn't come off well at all. See, I had used this makeup-paint that adheres to your skin and doesn't let go instead of the regular non-skin-pain that comes off when you rub it and so my skin was stained that night when we went to party at my pal Drew's house and then when I went to church the day after that. At the party, my neighbor Carson wrestled the biggest kid on the team to the ground and effectively pinned him there. This initiated a series of wrestling-matches and super wedgies among the boys that will likely never be matched in the coming years.

Last weekend was the water polo banquet, wherein we were given our JV/Varsity letters, seniors were recognized, and other related things. It's always fun, but long, of course. My award was stupid and basically a repeat of last years award, "The Betty Crocker Award," which was really dumb because I repeatedly tell water polo company that the baked goods I bring in are from my mother and not me, but they never listen, apparently.
After that we went to a sleepover at one of the girls' houses and we watched The Orphan. Now I must confess that I'm absolutley awful with scary movies, so logically I was terrified. But the best part was hearing fellow lifeguard Dylon scream at the top of his lungs when the orphan appeared in a window out of nowhere. As I was falling asleep, everybody decided to watch The Hangover, but honestly I can't say what that movie's about (other than a hangover, of course) because I was asleep for most of it and the other part I had taken my contacts out and couldn't see. And I was very happily surprised that MattBrady let me keep the couch after he and another guy had gone on a 4AM diner run, just as breakfast was open. I did not sleep well at all, but it's alright.

This week I'm freaking out over my test and struggling to remember to buy advance New Moon tickets. Really, I just want to see it to see it, so I can talk about it. I'm not one of those rabid twilight fans who'll bite your head off if you're not on my team. Though, for the record, TEAM JACOB.

Tuesday we watch STAR TREK. YOU WANT TO SEE IT AS WELL. Trailer here: [link]
See, I use my Jedi mind-tricks on you. Star Trek is great. I've been waiting about two months for the DVD release. I might buy it, but momma says it's too expensive. Let's just see it first. I've been studying up so that I'll maybe understand it a bit more, and I've been trying to persuade my friend Sylvia to want to watch it as well. Julietta had a big hand in the persuasion, too, so thanks. I'm just so excited, you have no idea. Everybody watch it, out on DVD November 17th--oh wait, that was yesterday, so get to it.

Alright chilluns, I must leave you there, wish me luck on my test, I send you all my blessings. I promise to write about Star Trek.

Take care.
